South Korea actor Kim Bum has been looking really pale for the past one month. During the interview Kim Bum expressed: “Within a month I lost 8kg. I weight about 50kg now.” There still a smile on Kim Bum’s face.

Kim Bum acted as a boxer role in the SBS Korean TV drama ‘Dream’. It was reported that all the fighting scenes were accumulated together and shot once a week. Kim Bum has already shot 3 field fighting scenes during the day of the interview. He said: “I would lost 2kg shooting fighting scenes in one day like today.”
Reporter: You suffered so much filming this drama yet the ratings were so low. Do you feel there is a loss?
Kim Bum: It was really unfortunate that the ratings were so low. However the shooting atmosphere was very good. In fact ever since I debuted, all the Korean TV drama that I have acted do not received low ratings. (Dramas like: East of Eden and Boys Before Flowers)
Kim Bum: Ratings are not everything, however it would bring an impact in the shooting atmosphere, therefore I began to worry. But the atmosphere at the shooting scene was very good and all the actors were getting more serious in filming. I met good actors this time and I wish to have another opportunity to work with them again.
Reporter: Do you develop any tacit understanding skills when acting with Joo Jin Mo and Son Dam Bi?
Kim Bum: I’m very worried about how I can get closer to Joo Jin Mo before I met him. However he can live up the atmosphere at the shooting scene. Son Dam Bi was very serious exercising in the lounge, So I don’t even have the time to joke with her. She has desired in acting. I’m regretted to say that this should be a memorable debut drama for her, so I hope the drama would ends with a good result.
MBC Korean TV drama ‘Queen Seon Duk’ has suppressed the ratings of ‘Dream’. Kim Bum don’t mind if the ratings was only 5% to 6%.
Kim Bum expressed: “All the shooting scenes atmosphere were good. Even though I have to shoot for 6 days a week, I don’t feel tired at all. Currently we have completed shooting half the series (Total: 20 series), and are looking forward to the rest of the filming.”
Since ‘Boys Before Flowers’, Kim Bum has been popular all this while. In the Korean TV drama ‘Boys Before Flowers’, Kim Bum has been acting as a rich group successor. Through ‘Boys Before Flowers’, he had shot 7 commercial ads and ranked as a Hallyu star by overseas fans.

epop: Can you tell us about your experience of you first venture into the entertainment industry?
KSE: When I was fifteen; under the support of friends, I took on a chocolate advertisement then I discovered that being a model is very interesting. After that, I was lucky and starred in <>. Maybe it’s because I’ve been filming advertisements previously, which leaded me to think that acting does not suit my character; fortunately my parents have been very supportive and I slowly built up the feel for acting.
KB: Many have said that I emerged as a child star but I feel that though I cannot be counted as an adult actor nor can I be said to be a child star, and can only be said to be somewhere in between the two. I won’t exactly tell myself to show mature acting skills, comparing this; I feel that the process of growing up is more important, I hope that everyone can see my improvements.
Epop: Did your parents object when you first stepped into the entertainment industry?
KB: Basically, all parents would wish for their child to get to university and find a good job. My parents are also like that, when I was in elementary school, they forbade me to join the soccer team, but after I left the soccer team; I fell in love with acting. However after being an actor, my grades are still good, this fulfilled my parent’s expectations hence they permit me to be an actor.
KSE: They didn’t ~ Maybe it’s because I’ve always obeyed my parent’s plus my parents also highly respect my opinions.
Epop: Previously, Kim Joon revealed on a television program that you have a good drinking capacity! Is it true?
KB: Ha Ha… Still alright la! [Translator’s note: I bought the ‘la’ over from the Chinese article, it’s just to emphasis it’s casualness] I’ve only drank up to 2-3 cups of soju!
Epop: What expectations do you have from your other half?
KSE: Hmm.. if you’re talking about boys like those in <> who are rich; and have a lot of capabilities, it’s not exactly the type I would like because I prefer guys who is worthy of my admiration and those that are extremely gentle, sweet and romantic.
KB: My ideal type is someone who can understand my career, can get along well with me, and a girl whom I can confide everything and anything with. And also, a lively and bubbly girl.

Because he is perfect and kind, he also seems like the kind of guy who would delve really really deeply on a matter, (he’s) really too adorable. Even though looking very perfect, yet is a man with flaws, that makes him even more charismatic! And for So Yi Jung, the kind of flirty character, as a boyfriend, I definitely cannot forgive! *Chuckles* Of course, the Kim Bum out of scene is definitely not a guy like that .

KB: *chuckles* .. To say of myself like that, seems pretty embarrassing ~ Before I was a celebrity, I had a few girlfriends, I am one of those who once I fall in love with a girl, would no longer pay attention to any more girls! Previously, because I was so addicted to sports, I neglected those girlfriends; now, because of filming I have even less free time, and also because being a celebrity, if I caused my girlfriend to have anti-fans, it would be bad. Hence, I am still single at the time being!
Epop: What do both of you think is the common point(s) between the two of you?
KSE: (About) wanting to experiment everything ba~ And also, we can't bear to lose, I have a really keen sense of curiousity, and desire to try out a lot of thing. If I'm forbidden to do so, I won't stubbornly push on with it.
KB: Yea.. Plus I have a lot of thoughts (ideas/dreams) but have yet gone to the extend of letting anyone worried about me. When it's time to play; I'd play hard, (and) when its time to work, I would also put all my heart into work, (and) not let myself have any regrets. Most importantly, I am one of those type who once (I) set out on something, no matter what it is, (I) would see it till the end.

KB: I was obsessed with soccer since I was ten all the way till I was fifteen, and thought it was the only way I could attain success. But at times I'd blame myself, because friends who are of similar age kept having improvements in their soccer skills, and I found it really difficult to be
satisfied with my soccer skills, I guess I am really a perfectionist ~ he he ...
Epop: When faced with stress, how do you overcome it?
KB: I remembered that once I went for an audition, in which the director had a lot of faith in me, but I was not able to perform up to standard, (and) I regretted it a lot. Whenever I'm faced with such pressure, I would confide my troubles to my acting teacher, and work hard on changing myself, to make myself improve more!

Epop: If the person you want to marry is not approved by your parents, what would you do?
KB: If I love someone to the extend of wanting to marry her, but because of the objections of people around and do not end up with her, I think I'd regret it my whole life. Hence I'd continuously try convincing my parents; until they agree. I've been very honest up to now, I think they'd accept my decision.
Epop: Have you thought if you suffer failure in the entertainment industry, how would you react (adjust to the fact) to it?
KB: I think no one likes failure, failing the first time round is unavoidable, but to me; failing the second time round, I would be very upset. From failure to success, (one) needs to fork out a lot of efforts, I would not let myself fail the second time .
KSE: Wa.. Kim Bum is so stern~ My mum hopes for me to become like (those) hollywood stars, that means (to be) an international star la ~ But I find this goal very ambitious ~ Hence, mum said later, if I fail, I can return~ he he ...

Ga Eul is Jan Di's best friend since kindergarten. Ga Eul starts developing romantic feelings for Yi Jung after he helps her get over her boyfriend who just played with her and took her on a fake date to help set Jun Pyo and Jan Di back up again. Kim So-eun earns praise for double duty
Actress Kim So-eun is currently pulling double duty with roles in two different KBS productions: On Mondays and Tuesdays, she’s the sassy best friend in the trendy drama Boys Before Flowers, and on weekends she plays the childhood counterpart to Chae Shi-ra’s grown-up warrior leader in historical series Empress Cheon-chu.

Currently, there is word that Son Dam-bi will also star in the drama as Kim Bum’s love interest and daughter of the K-1 gym director but nothing has been confirmed.

Yoo and Kim team up to solve a real-time murder mystery
Wow, Yoo Seung-ho sure is keeping busy lately. First he has the war movie with Kim Bum and Seung-ri, 71, as well as the currently filming Busan, as well as a role playing the younger counterpart to the king character in upcoming historical drama Queen Seon-deok.

Gifted potter So Yi Jeong (Kim Bum) and Jandi’s friend Ga Eul (Kim So Eun) have started a beautiful “bickering relationship”.
As compared to the heartaching love triangle between Jandi – Junpyo – Jihoo, the loveline between Yi Jeong and Ga Eul is lighthearted, which has made the plot even more interesting.

KB: Thank you for the compliment but in real life, I am quite different. I am shy and do not mingle easily with people, much less attract beautiful women.
IS: Do you have a girlfriend?
KB: I've never had a girlfriend. I have been always too involved in something or other and have not found a girlfriend.
IS: If you had a girlfriend, what would you like her to do for you?
KB: I would like her to cook for me and pack me a nice lunch box. During my busy shooting schedule, I often have to skip a meal. When that happens, I could eat the lunch box my girlfriend has lovingly prepared for me. (Sounds like the way to Kim Bum's heart is through his stomach :-) Hear that girls?)
IS: Who is #1 on your mobile phone speed dial?
KB: I believe it's a "hyung" (elder brother/senior) from my agency whom I call for support. When I have a girlfriend, I would probably change her number to be #1 on my speed dial then.
IS: What would you do if your parents oppose marriage to your chosen one -- much like Boys Before Flowers' Gu Jun-pyo's situation?
KB: If I do not get married to the one I love because of the opposition of those around me, I will regret it for the rest of my life. I will persuade my parent's for their blessing.
IS: What is your motto in life?
KB: Making a mistake once is alright, but don't make it twice. As you live life, you may experience failures and you may make mistakes. However, I do not want to encounter the same defeat from making the same mistake again. It means that although a person can't be perfect, he/she should try his/her best to come close to perfection.
IS: What is your biggest crisis in life to date?
KB: I don't think I have experienced any extra ordinary crisis in my life. I have worked hard to overcome certain things, but I do not consider them crisis in my life.
IS: Do you want to be a tycoon like your character in Boys Before Flowers?
KB: I do not want to be a tycoon, although I am always keen to achieve, and to live out my dream.
IS: Favourite Internet sites?
KB: Daum, Naver and other portal sites because news and information can be obtained very quickly.
IS: What do you always carry in your bag?
KB: Mobile phone and wallet.
IS: Do you have a jinx or habit?
KB: The day before the first day of shooting the drama I could not sleep. However, when morning comes, I go to the set in good spirits and get the job done. The next night, if I don't get to sleep again, my condition worsens.
IS: When you feel stressed how do you solve it?
KB: When I am stressed, I look for my friends. I get de-stressed when I hang out with them, laughing and talking.
IS: Who is your favourite sports star?
KB: Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.
IS: What three things would you bring to a desert island?
KB: Game consoles, DVD player and cell phone. I could watch movies with the DVD player and enjoy the island in between playing games on my console. Why would I bring a cell phone to a deserted island? I saw a CF once where the mobile phone was used to call for a Jjajangmyeon delivery.

Also because I have received so much love with my nickname it has become a precious name to me and my other name. Sometimes even my family and friends would call me "Ga Eul-yang." (laughs)”

A. “In the drama Ga Eul and Yi Jeong's love line differed from the original Japanese work to create a beautiful love, and I was very happy because of that. "Seoul couple" is a pretty name to be coined as... I'm thankful we received so much support and love (laughs).”

Ga Eul is Jan Di's best friend since kindergarten. Ga Eul starts developing romantic feelings for Yi Jung after he helps her get over her boyfriend who just played with her and took her on a fake date to help set Jun Pyo and Jan Di back up again. Actress Kim So-eun is currently pulling double duty with roles in two different KBS productions: On Mondays and Tuesdays, she’s the sassy best friend in the trendy drama Boys Before Flowers, and on weekends she plays the childhood counterpart to Chae Shi-ra’s grown-up warrior leader in historical series Empress Cheon-chu.

Wow, Yoo Seung-ho sure is keeping busy lately. First he has the war movie with Kim Bum and Seung-ri, 71, as well as the currently filming Busan, as well as a role playing the younger counterpart to the king character in upcoming historical drama Queen Seon-deok.

Kim Bum: Young Dong Chul in ‘east of Eden’. The historical background is in 1960s, Tan Goang village. It is a very sad role, he saw his father’s death which I haven’t got experience in this generation. It is very difficult to play such a role, I felt very stressful but at the same time, it is a very great drama. People all have good comments about the role. As an actor, it is very cheerful.
Kim So Eun: ‘Empress Chun Chu’ is very special to me. I stopped performing when I was in senior2. I had a big break to work on my study in Senior3 in order to get into university. During that break, I was studying, but I wanted to perform. After that, I know I have the passion to be an actress. Therefore, when I got into university, I had the chance to play young Huang Bo Soo in ‘Empress Chun Chu’. I think I learn how to act from the drama and enrich my acting skills.
Q:As a famous new star, it seems you are still afraid of something?
Kim Bum: Actors often change their roles. I am afraid that people cannot accept my new roles. I think that is the difference between what people like the style of a project.
Kim So Eun: I feel that happiness seems more than tiredness. No matter who, if you are doing something you like, you definitely have to pay for it. I am not afraid of being tired. I personally like villain very much, so i am thinking maybe I can play a role who has dual personality.
Kim So Eun: Ha Ji Won is my example, not only because she is good looking, but also she is confirmed by public with her great acting. I’m eager to be an actress who has the ability to play a diversificate role. My goal is to become an established actress like Naomi Watts in ‘The Painted Veil ‘, that role requests both good acting and the accumulation of life experience.
Q:Do u have any other hobbies apart from acting?
Kim Bum: I like sports, I was a member of a football team at school, and I learned kendo.
